WWII German Kriegsmarine Presentation Box Admiral Günther Lütjens, Atlantic 1941

A rare Kriegsmarine commemorative or presentation box, likely for cigarettes or small personal effects. The inscription on the lid reads. Im Einsatz für Ehre und Vaterland. Dimensions: 3.5 x 1.8 inch. Featuring the silhouette of the battleship Bismarck, this box references the ill-fated Atlantic campaign of 1941, during which Admiral Günther Lütjens perished with the Bismarck.

The box is lined internally, though shows clear signs of age and service use. Such items were often presented within Kriegsmarine circles as commemorative keepsakes, especially for senior officers or as mementos of naval operations.
