Wwii German Kriegsmarine Kapitänleutnant Shoulder Boards Matched Pair

This is a fine, matched pair of World War II German Kriegsmarine Kapitänleutnant shoulder boards that are in excellent condition. They are the sew-in type constructed of four rows of fine Russian braided silvered bullion wire and wrapped in a u-shape with buttonhole at the end for attachment to the uniform.

The silver is now with an attractive age toned patina. Affixed to each board are two gilt rank pips indicating the rank of Kapitänleutnant. The undersides are faces in fine Navy-blue wool. The boards remain in excellent condition and are as seen in contemporary photographs being worn by many U-Boat commanders.
