The clock has a silvered dial with black Arabic numeral hours and an outer minutes ring. It has black steel hands and features a subsidiary seconds dial.
The dial features the Junghans name within a star logo just below the centre. Just above the 6 oclock position is where the eagle & swastika emblem would have been but on this piece, as is so often the case. With Kriegsmarine clocks, the emblem has been scratched out. The clock has a hinged aluminium surround with domed glass front, with screw fastening to the right hand side. The main body of the clock is of a dark brown bakelite with three small fixing holes around the circumference.
The clock comes with a key for winding only (no key for adjustment). The dial has a circumference of 17.5cm (6 ¾ inches). The clock has a circumference of 24.5cm (9 ½ inches) and a depth of 6.5cm (2 ½ inches).
As already mentioned the eagle and swastika emblem has been scratched of. The dial has a few light scratches but nothing of significance. The aluminium surround has some marks but is undamaged. The Bakelite is in very good order with no damages.
There is a small nut and washer missing from a screw to the reverse, one of four that holds the movement in place, though its. Absence seems to make no difference as the other three screws hold it perfectly securely. The clock is in good working order.
