These were brought back by US veteran at the end of the war. The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6x30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7x50, 8x30, 10x50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis.
Made of aluminum, brass, and steel by " bmk" (Srb & Sys Fabrik Prazier Messinstrumente - Prague), these 7x50 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition! The lens bodies retain about 95% of their original, finish, and the aluminum end piece fittings are 100% intact! The focus adjustments still function perfectly on both eye pieces and the optics are still VERY sharp with no spotting or haziness! Also features the +30/-30 gradient scale. The right side is body marked, " Dienstglas 7x50 93501 "; and the left side is marked with the 3-digit code of " bmk ", and " KF " (indicating Kätelfest, for cold weather use and Invarol as the lubricant). Features the RARE extendable eye cups that are more commonly used with Kriegsmarine optics. As they are in used condition, there are some slight marks and wear throughout. They come complete with the original LATE-WAR Ersatz Leather Case, that is in near PERFECT condition with no major marks or wear! The spring closure is intact, however the protective leather covering that wraps around the springs has come away (currently it is covered with black tape). Could be left as-is as it does not detract. The RARE feature is that rather than a maker code or waffenamt, it instead has a prominent RBN Number stamp on the inside cover (see photo).
Also has a flap to store lens filters. A VERY NICE example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
