Featuring the same movement as the Luftwaffe B-Uhr, these were produced LATE in the war, only 10 examples are known to exist! The company name derives from the surname Lacher and the abbreviation Co. At the company's time of establishment in the mid 1920s, many other watch manufacturers in Pforzheim used almost exclusively Swiss movements. These movements were delivered either completely or in parts.
This Navigational Watch features a 50mm movement diameter; Piston-tooth lever escapement; decentralized second hand; and a 36h power reserve. The Dial is silver-plated brass, and the hands are blue tempered steel, pear shaped. The small second is polished.
Though it is marked as " 22 Jewels", "21 jewels" is also stamped, but this is because the movement is the same as used in the Laco Flieger B-Uhr (which was then converted to a "small second" hand). Made by laco with a 60mm. 925 Silver Case (50mm dial diameter), this Kriegsmarine Navigational Watch is in SUPERB functioning condition! Originally delivered to the Naval Observatory there are some marks and wear due to the age, but nothing that detracts. The hands are blue tempered steel, pear shaped, the small second is polished. The dial is near MINT, with no marks, scratches, or wear. It is 100% functional, however I do not know when it was last serviced. Comes complete in the display box pictured. Both front and back feature mineral glass. With only 10 examples known to exist, it would make a. N AMAZING and 100% ORIGINAL addition to any collection or display!
