WW2 German Kriegsmarine 10x80 AIRCRAFT FLAK SPOTTING BINOCULAR VERY RARE
Introduced in 1938, the Carl Zeiss 10x80 Kriegsmarine Flakfernrohr was made of a VERY HIGH quality construction, and with the 80. ° angle, makes it perfect for night and low light viewing. After May 1941, it was manufactured by the Carl Zeiss division, "Optische Praezisionswerke GmbH, Warsaw, Poland" (eug). This later version was different from the original Carl Zeiss design, having a wider field of view of 122m at 1000m; and exit pupil of 8mm.
Production ended in August 1944. These 10x80s were primarily used for identifying attacking aircraft and directing the large 4m rangefinders, searchlights and cannons of anti-aircraft batteries.
Made of a large tooled alloy and aluminum and steel construction, this 10x80 power range-finding FlaK Binocular is in EXCELLENT used condition! Manufactured by the Polish Division of Carl Zeiss, they are marked, " eug" (Optische Praezisionswerke GmbH, Warsaw, Poland), andretain 95% of the original paint and finish! All adjustments and knobs work as they should, however there are some slight marks, wears, and scratches, due to the age.
All original data and manufacture information is also present, along with the KM Adler. This optic was designed as a complete unit, with a permanently affixed cradle and turntable... And will fit on any tripod with a 13mm mounting post. All focus adjustments work correctly, and the distance between the observers eyes can be adjusted from 56mm to 74mm. This binocular is adjustable on the yoke for altitude (elevation) and azimuth; with elevation being adjustable from -20° to +80°, and the Azimuth adjustable 0-260°.
At the moment, the azimuth is FROZEN... And needs to be lubricated in order to turn correctly. Marked with a "T" indicating the optics are coated. The optics are EXTREMELY CLEAR, with NO fog or haziness... They are very slightly out of collimation, but that is an easy fix. The Rubber Eye Cups were missing, so those have been replaced with an exact replica set. The beauty rings are also a replacement set, as the original ones were missing. Some slight damage to the threads that the rings cover, but it does not affect the function. Out of ALL the 10x80 binoculars manufactured during the war, this variant is considered the BEST overall for optical clarity. In AMAZING untouched condition, would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection or display!
