A fascinating example of a recovered. Heavily blast damaged to the front. This hand-painted camo shell was recovered. From a farmer's barn. Just inland from the coast at Longues-sue-Mer in Normandy. Gold' & the US'Omaha' Beaches. Of D-Day June 6th 1944. Longues-sur-Mer was also the location of the famous. With an attractive green & tan, hand-applied camo. (and a veneer of rust bleeding through it). It is very redolent of the coastal sand-dunes camo scheme. With the inside rear of the flange stamped. Acquired in Cahagnes south of Bayeux. This is an evocative & very solid battle-damaged. That took place on the Normandy coastline.

On, during and after the. June 6th'D-Day' Landings of 1944. (B/W Image Courtesy of The Tomahawk Films WW-II Archive).
