
Original WWII German Kriegsmarine Chevron Patch Lot - Set of 4. Up for sale is a bundle of four (4) original WWII-era German Kriegsmarine sleeve chevrons, removed from wartime naval uniforms. They were possibly removed from a dark-blue wool jumper the. Wartime regulations allowed several materials for the chevron tress on blue uniforms. Matte gold-coloured tress, yellow cloth, braided soutache or light/cornflower-blue rayon ribbon.
Manufacturers often combined these, the Obergefreiter pair outer and inner stripes are gold bullion, while the narrow ribbed band in between is cornflower-blue rayon. 2x Gefreiter (single gold chevron - Able Seaman / Private First Class).2x Obergefreiter (double gold chevron with dark blue ribbed center - Leading Seaman / Corporal). Material: Gold bullion/cellon thread on dark navy wool.
7 cm wide x 4.5 cm tall (? 2.75" x 1.75"). Condition: Removed from uniform, with visible wear, loose threads, and some fraying consistent with age/use. See photos for exact condition.
