Original WW2 German 1942 Kriegsmarine 2 Unterseeboot Flotille Submariner Ring

Authentic WWII era silver ring weight 8,8 gr. The ring material is solid silver (tested - has stamp 800).

Ring size is 10,5 (US) (inner diameter approx 20,1mm). Silver has darkened with time (can still be cleaned), suitable for use and collection. Stamps inside: The abbreviation 2 U Fl = 2 U-boot Flotille (2 U-boat Flotilla). KM = Kriegsmarine (WW2 German Navy). U-boot Krieg is translated from German as "U-Boat War".

The wolfpack (u-boat convoy) was a convoy attack tactic employed in the Second World War. It was used principally by the U-boats of the Kriegsmarine during the Battle of the Atlantic. The idea of a co-ordinated submarine attack on convoys had been proposed during the First World War but had no success. In the Atlantic during the Second World War the Germans had considerable successes with their wolfpack attacks but were ultimately defeated by the Allies.
