GERMAN U-BOAT COMMANDER'S GLASS 7x50 BLC. A pair of German 7 x 50 fixed focus armored binoculars. The set is manufactured by the firm CARL ZIESS.

They are marked under the rubber lens covering along the right side. Maker marked « blc » and serial number «. This model was specially manufactured for the use aboard submarines but also used on other combat vessels such as E-boats. The set is untouched and in as found condition.

The rubber coverings are still pliable and but shows signs of age. The binoculars themselves retain much of their factory applied smooth tan finish.

I have not cleaned them, including the lenses. No cracks seen, optics look good and will look better after a cleaning. A difficult and very desirable set to find.
