The subject of this review is an interesting specimen of the men's timepiece from the WWII period. It was made by the Germany Watch Company of JUNGHANS, dating to ca 1930-40's. Similar watches were worn by seamen and officers of submarines of the German Navy. This military watch with a manual wind. Arabic figures of a military style.

The back lid of this watch is encased in transparent material that allows you to see the inner mechanisms of the watch working and to imagine all those parts of the watch in full view. This mechanical watch has an original movement that is branded and numbered (#09973). The precision of Junghans work quickly became synonymous with outstanding quality of manufacturing, and the foundation was laid for a complete watchmaking enterprise. The Junghans brand was established in 1866. After Erhard's death in 1870, the company was run by his sons Arthur and Erhard Jr.
In 1903 JUNGHANS was the largest clock-maker in the world. They were well-known for producing a wide variety of watches. Production of wristwatches begins in 1927. The company further expanded over years merging with other well-known German clockmakers including Lenzkirch, Thomas Haller and Gustav Becker.
After war and dismantling, the end of the Black Forest clockmaker seemed to have come. But under great-grandson Helmuth Junghans the work of reconstruction was begun. Today, this factory, largest in Germany, is owned by Diehl. The package goes 15-40 days depending on the work of post services.
