Up for sale are two rare, original photographs "liberated" as "prizes of war" by my father at the Bieber Mini-Sub factory in Lubeck, Germany when the plant was captured by Allied Forces in early 1945. It could travel short distances (solo) at about 20 meters depth. It could travel on the surface, powered by modified Opel gasoline engines, and submerged by batteries. It was maneuverable but had no trim tanks. 324 of them were built, and could be carried, up to four at a time, aboard a "mother" submarine, as seen in the first photo, for surreptitious deployment under the cover of darkness.
My father found them in a file cabinet at the factory, "liberated" them and they have been "in family storage" until just recently. They would be a great addition to a submersible historian's collection or WW II Deutsche Kriegsmarin collector. The size of the photos is about 5 X 8 inches and 4 x 6 inches, probably printed from negatives on a Rollei twin-lens reflex, the favored propaganda camera of the Third Reich. A sheet containing some researched history of the boat is included. Tracking information will be available within the United States postal system. Thanks for looking and good luck! And now, the not so "fine print". If you are happy with your item, I would appreciate the same.
