Leitz DF 7x50 Artl marked binoculars. Made in approx 1917 for WW1 U-Boat service use.
Refurbished by Leitz approx 1939, and put into kriegsmarine use & used in the artillery section of kriegsmarine. (possibly U-Boats) Coated optics being added.
Binocular shows signs of wear, please check photo's carefully for condition. Optics are clean, having been service not too long ago, and produce a wonderful image.
Very bright & just wonderful to use. The image produced by this binocular outperforms my leitz U-boat 7x50, and also my Zeiss 7x50 U-Boat glass.
Top plate repainted, as difficult to read inscriptions due to oxidisation. Lenses & coatings in good condition, But not perfect. 1 minor loss inside of 1 objective, due to fungal growth (now removed) Minor blemishes & a few very light cleaning marks, as would be expected on a 105 year old glass.
Prisms in very good & clean condition. Just a wonderful binocular to use, lightweight & feels so good in the hand. Optics will blow your socks off.
