Authentic WW2 German 1944 Navy Kriegsmarine U-boat war convoy Wolfpack Ring

Original WWII era military ring. Large big ring- Height 21mm! Anchor is a typical motif of WW2 German Navy.

Material looks like silver (has no purity stamp). Ring size is 13 (US) (inner diameter approx 22.5mm). Stamps inside: 13 U-Fl = 13 U-boot Flottille (13th submarine flotilla). U-366 = U-boot 366 (navy ww2 german u-boat #366). "Orkan" is the name of Wolfpack (u-boat war convoy).

The inscription U-boot Krieg on the sides translates from German as "U-boat warfare". The wolfpack (u-boat convoy) was a convoy attack tactic employed in the Second World War. It was used principally by the U-boats of the Kriegsmarine during the Battle of the Atlantic. The idea of a co-ordinated submarine attack on convoys had been proposed during the First World War but had no success.

In the Atlantic during the Second World War the Germans had considerable successes with their wolfpack attacks but were ultimately defeated by the Allies. Highly detailed antique military ring! This ring is not trench art.
