Presumable stored in the conning tower, this stored all the necessary signal flags used to communicate with other vessels while on the surface. This came to me with a small collection of KM items, that were removed from U-190 in 1945. German submarine U-190 was a Type IXC/40 U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II.
Her keel was laid down on 7 October 1941 by DeSchiMAG AG Weser of Bremen. She was launched on 3 June 1942 and commissioned on 24 September 1942 with Kapitänleutnant Max Wintermeyer in command.
She carried out a total of six war patrols during which she sank two ships. On 6 July 1944 Wintermeyer was relieved by Oberleutnant zur See Hans-Erwin Reith who commanded the boat for the rest of her career in the Kriegsmarine. After VE Day, she was surrendered to the Royal Canadian Navy, in which she served for two more years.Made of heavy canvas, this signal flag bag is in AMAZING used condition! Some slight marks and wear, but nothing that detracts. Stamped with the KM Inspection Stamp, it is clearly marked, "Flagg-Tasche fur U-Boote"... And has multiple pockets to store each flag individually. In my years of collecting, I have NEVER seen another one! Brought back from WW2 by a Canadian veteran, it would make for a FANTASTIC display! Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft Fw190, Me262, etc. , as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. Use is solely based on my authorization only. The item "WW2 German Kriegsmarine U-Boat Flagg Tasche SIGNAL FLAG BAG U-190 RARE" is in sale since Sunday, March 3, 2019.
